Up early this morning (0430) in order to travel down to the big smoke for the Ashden alumni workshop.
This was a chance to be introduced to new Ashden award winners, forge new partnerships, catch up with Ali from Liftshare, Susan from Manchester hospital, along with gaining my annual dose of enthusiasm and inspiration. It is also the perfect chance to quiz Julia Hawkins on her “latest green crush”, aka Mr. Jones????????????
In the year since winning the UK Gold award we have forged links with Liftshare who have been working with us to reduce staff travel mileage; Parity Projects who have reviewed representative examples of our offices, holiday cottages and tenant homes in order to highlight efficiency opportunities (they are now doing similar work with our colleagues over on the wrong side of Offa’s Dyke). These are just a couple of ways in which the National Trust have benefitted from membership of the Ashden alumni. This years awards are now open, check out the work of Ashden for yourself and be inspired.
Off for coffee, and I may have to succumb to a bacon bap now and doughnut order for my son to collect on the way home.
