Autumn is now starting to shift up in the mountains. it was a bit damp and cloudy this morning when i went up to see the finishing touches on the weir. ‘perfect’ is the main word for the finish. Wynn from the farm was up by the weir yesterday and a passerby complemented the finish of the weir and asked ‘when were we going to install the pipe’! he was really surprised when Wynn informed him that the mile of pipe was already in. Exactly the finish we were aiming for. they are now pressure testing the pipe for leaks
![looks good from all angles. the still clear blue water looking so inviting (if a tad chilly) we knew the finish was everything on this job and i think we have cracked it. But lets see what the visitors and our peer groups have to say](http://ntenvironmentalwork.files.wordpress.com/2013/10/hafod-y-llan-weir-2-oct-2013.jpg?w=640&h=453)

the turbine building is coming on at a rate of knots. The building is now weather proof and the estate larch cladding is going on. Electricians move in next week and the turbine and generator arrive on the 28th of Oct. Still lots to do but hoping to be generating before the end of the year. The building now looks much smaller in the landscape. Well…it is 1m lower because of the over large boulders which came out of the foundation resulting in a building which sits deeper into the landscape (this extra 1m also adds 0.5% ish extra to the overall generation!)
![The larch looking quite raw at the moment but should have turned a silvery grey by the end of next summer](http://ntenvironmentalwork.files.wordpress.com/2013/10/hafod-y-llan-turbine-building-oct.jpg?w=640)
