Today Paul and I spent the afternoon with Alan from the School of oceanographic science at the University of Bangor . The School is recognised as one of the top oceanography academic institutes in the world. Alan from the SEACAMS project at Bangor has worked with us for a few years and is looking at the next set of research projects around our marine source heat pump. The purpose of which is to learn more and add value. They have recently completed a detailed intertidal laser survey. This Thursday six MSc students and ecologists are undertaking further ecological surveys before we install the sea pipes and system in place. They are doing this in order to get as detailed a baseline as possible. This will then lead on to a medium term survey to see if we are having any impact on this sensitive area. But also if this often tough environment will have an impact on our project. Discussions then went on with Alan to look at what next step on the R&D work and developing and learning best practice for others to take this renewable heating approach on…we have ideas!
