![There was as much interest in the farm as there was in energy. Thanks to Chloe for sorting the day for us all!](http://ntenvironmentalwork.files.wordpress.com/2013/09/community-energy-day-hafod-y-llan.jpg?w=640&h=473)
We recently hosted a show and tell community energy event at Hafod y Llan for Community energy fortnight
Its been a busy few weeks on the community energy front. This is an area of huge growth in our day-to-day work. Good and challenging. The challenge being ‘time resource’ (we don’t have enough!) The following is a flavour of whats on the go. More detail to come
Anafon 290kw Hydro. Awaiting final planning permission approval for the hydro. whole world of legal, project planning, grid applications, Ofgem dealings for FIT pre application and so on
Bethesda community hydro is now in full feasibility swing. Dulas a renewables energy company undertaking a full battery of feasibility work. Topographical and bio-diversity surveys at the moment
Llanberis – we have progress on securing the right to survey, business plan on a hydro. the PV work is progressing having secured funds from Gwynedd Werdd for the business planning aspects
meeting with a further three community groups who would like to develop renewable energy systems on NT land. Mostly hydro but also a discussion around community heating. Awaiting their proposals
I invited Triodos Bank down to discuss with a few groups. Project financing approaches but also to understand the risks
We held a Community energy Masterclass at Llanerchaeron with Ecodyfi and The University of Bangor. 20 people participated.
The Abergwyngregyn hydro social benefit study was also presented at the Coop Uk community energy conference
Energy Aggregation work is progressing at a pace. Its timing seems good for everyone. Meetings with other energy suppliers in the next week to se if we can fund the further research work needed
next week we start looking under the bonnet at the Dolaucothi estate. Community energy, renewable energy systems review and energy efficiency audits.
…and something special in S Wales! (new way of working with Community renewables!?)
Its busy!
